Our specialty

Dental Practice IT Support

Specialist IT for dental practices — practice management, imaging, and claiming terminals kept running so chairs never sit idle.

A dental practice is not a generic office with teeth. The practice management database, the imaging bridge, the sensor drivers and the claiming terminal all have to agree with each other, and when one of them stops agreeing the surgery stops. We know the difference between a workstation that cannot see the server and a server that has run out of disk, because we have stood in both rooms. We also know that a Tuesday morning with a full book is not the time to be reading forum posts. If you already have an IT provider who handles the day-to-day, we can sit behind them and cover only the hours they do not.

Practice management support — Dental4Windows, Exact, Praktika, Core Practice
Imaging software and sensors — Romexis, Sidexis, Carestream, Vatech
HICAPS and Tyro terminal setup, claiming and integration
Patient record security aligned to the Australian Privacy Principles
Priority response when a chair is down — the clock costs you money

Managed IT Support

Proactive monitoring, patching and a helpdesk that answers — so small issues never become downtime.

Most outages announce themselves days ahead. A drive reporting bad sectors, a backup that has been failing quietly since a password change, a server disk creeping past ninety percent. Monitoring exists to catch those while they are still boring. The rest of managed support is unglamorous and matters more than it sounds: keeping an accurate list of what you own, patching it when nobody is using it, and setting up new staff so their first morning is not spent waiting on a login. You get a person who already knows your setup, rather than whoever picks up the queue.

Unlimited remote & on-site helpdesk support
24/7 monitoring for servers, PCs and laptops
Patch management scheduled out of hours
New starter & device onboarding, done right

Cybersecurity & Compliance

Endpoint protection, email security and ransomware defence aligned to the ACSC Essential Eight.

Small businesses are not targeted because they are interesting. They are targeted because the attack is automated and they were reachable. In practice the way in is nearly always the same handful of doors: a password reused from somewhere that leaked, an account without multi-factor, a remote desktop port left open to the internet, or a convincing invoice email. The Essential Eight is the Australian government's plain list of what closes those doors, and it is a sensible frame to work through rather than a certificate to chase. We will tell you which level you are honestly at and what the next step costs.

Next-gen endpoint protection & ransomware defence
Email filtering plus staff awareness training
Multi-factor authentication across every system
Compliance support for privacy obligations
04 · Cloud

Cloud & Microsoft 365

Migration, licensing and secure collaboration across every device your team actually uses.

Most businesses do not need a cloud strategy. They need their email to stop bouncing, their files to be in one place instead of four, and to stop paying for licences nobody uses. Microsoft 365 licensing in particular is worth an hour of somebody's attention — the gap between the plan you were sold and the plan you need is often real money each month. Where a move genuinely helps we will move you, and where an existing server is doing its job perfectly well we will say so and leave it alone.

Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace setup
Secure file sharing, SharePoint and Teams
Legacy server-to-cloud migration
Intune device management for remote teams
05 · Network

Network & Infrastructure

Reliable Wi-Fi, switching and multi-site connectivity, designed once and monitored every day after.

Wi-Fi complaints are rarely about Wi-Fi. They are about one access point covering a floor it was never going to cover, a consumer router doing a job it was not built for, or a cable run that has been intermittent since a shopfit. Diagnosing that properly means looking rather than guessing, and the fix is usually cheaper than the third replacement router. Where you have more than one site, or staff working from home, the sensible answer is a designed connection between them rather than whatever accumulated.

Business-grade Wi-Fi design & deployment
Firewall, switching and structured cabling
Multi-site connectivity (SD-WAN / VPN)
Server and hardware lifecycle planning
06 · Backup

Backup & Disaster Recovery

Encrypted, automated and genuinely tested — because a backup you have never restored isn't a backup.

Nearly every business we meet has a backup. Far fewer have ever restored from it. The gap between those two things is where disasters live, and it is usually discovered on the worst possible day. A backup that reports success can still be backing up the wrong folder, missing the database because it was locked, or writing to a drive that ransomware can reach and encrypt alongside everything else. So we test restores on a schedule and write down how long a real recovery takes, because that number — not the size of the backup — is the one that matters when you are deciding whether to open tomorrow.

Automated encrypted backups, local and cloud
Quarterly restore testing, not just log checks
Documented business continuity plan
Ransomware-resilient immutable copies
07 · VoIP

VoIP & Communications

Business phone systems that move with your team — desk, mobile or laptop, one number everywhere.

The two things that go wrong with phone systems are both avoidable. The first is a botched number port, which is why we schedule ports deliberately and keep the old service running until the new one is proven. The second is call flow nobody has thought about — the after-hours message that still says the old hours, the queue that rings out to a handset on a desk in an empty room. A cloud system is only worth having if the routing matches how your business actually runs, so that is the part we spend the time on.

Cloud phone systems with mobile & desktop apps
Auto-attendants, queues and after-hours routing
Number porting with zero downtime
Teams and video conferencing integration

IT Health Check & Roadmap

A plain-English audit of where your technology stands, and a costed roadmap for where it needs to go.

The health check is free and there is no obligation attached to it, which we mention because people reasonably assume otherwise. It exists because most owners have no clear picture of what they are running, and quoting into that fog helps nobody. We go through security, backups, licensing, hardware age and whatever is currently annoying everyone, then write it up in language you can hand to a colleague. Some of what comes back will be urgent, some can wait two years, and we will say plainly which is which — including the items you do not need us for.

Full audit of security, backups and hardware
Prioritised, budgeted improvement roadmap
Ongoing vCIO advisory as you grow

Questions about working with us

Do you only work with dental practices?

No. Dental is our specialty and it is where we go deepest, but the majority of what we do — servers, Microsoft 365, backups, security, phones — is the same work in any office. Accountants, clinics, warehouses and trades businesses are all straightforward for us. The dental focus means we understand one industry unusually well, not that we turn away the others.

Which suburbs do you actually cover?

We are based in Tarneit and cover Melbourne's west closely — Werribee, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Truganina, Williams Landing, Wyndham Vale — plus the CBD. Remote support reaches anywhere in Australia, and for most software problems that is the faster fix anyway. If you are further out and need someone physically on site, ask us before assuming the answer is no; we would rather tell you honestly than have you drive the enquiry elsewhere.

Do you support Macs, or only Windows?

Both. Windows is the bulk of business IT in Australia and certainly of dental software, but mixed environments are normal now and we support Macs alongside them — including enrolling them properly rather than leaving them as the machines nobody manages. If your practice software is Windows-only, we will tell you where a Mac will and will not work rather than selling you a workaround that frustrates everyone.

Do you take one-off jobs, or is it ongoing support only?

Both. A single migration, a new office fit-out, a server that needs replacing, or a second opinion on a quote you have been given — all fine as standalone projects with a fixed price agreed first. Ongoing support is where the relationship usually settles, because we get faster once we know your setup, but it is not a condition of getting help.

Will we need to replace our hardware to work with you?

Almost certainly not, and be wary of anyone who says otherwise on day one. Plenty of five-year-old machines have years left with more memory and a solid-state drive. What we will do is tell you which equipment is genuinely at end of life, which is fine, and roughly when each item will need money spent on it — so replacements are planned rather than emergencies. We do not earn a commission on hardware.

How quickly do you respond when something breaks?

Within business hours and our covered evenings and Saturdays, we aim to be looking at an urgent problem within the hour, and most issues start being worked on faster than that. A practice with chairs down goes to the front of the queue. Sundays are a 9am to 5pm emergency line rather than general support. If we cannot fix something remotely we will say so early rather than keeping you on a screen-share while the day disappears.

Not sure which services you need?
